Moments of Peace Part 11

Well, I’ve just put purple dye in my hair again!  I was so overdue.  It was getting BORING again.  I WAS GETTING BORING…again.  So while I sit and wait for the purple dye to do its thang, I’m thinking it’s a great opportunity to do my Moments of Peace Blog for today.

Raise your hand if you are THRILLED it’s Friday!!!  Sure I’ll sit here and raise my hand to myself and Cleo Kitty.  Yes yes yes!  Bring on Friday-ness!!!  Oh and welcome to my newcomers this week!  Everyone who reads my Blog rocks!  Thank you so much!

And now onto my Moments of Peace for the week:

06/22/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. I mean look at those rays of sun!!! Golden!

06/22/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. Even the clouds were golden!

06/23/12 My view at The Landmark Movie Theatre restroom (to see Brave–but NOT in the restroom–LOVED IT!) at the Westside Pavilion in West LA. They always have THE BEST flower arrangements. Go figure.

06/23/12 My view at the Westside Pavilion (after seeing the movie Brave) in West LA as day turns to night.

06/23/12 My view at the Westside Pavilion in West LA as day turns to night. The sun was crazy hot coming through the window and the window was tinted!

06/23/12 My view in West LA as night arrives. That is a plane above the moon. I couldn’t resist taking this picture because the sky was this deep twilight blue. Wish the parking lot light didn’t hinder the effect but oh well.

06/24/12 My view in Westchester, CA as day turns to night. Pretty pansies and lots of ’em!

06/24/12 My view from my car in Culver City, CA as day turns to night. Yes, I was at a stoplight…I think… Wish it wasn’t blurry but one of my favorite views of LA is when the tall palm trees are against the glowing dusk sky. The moon was soooo bright too!

06/25/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. Love the summer sky with its various glowing shades of color and light.

06/25/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. The twinkling lights were causing this “halo effect”. Was kinda weird but so neat.  Plus those dots of light in the sky along the horizon are planes getting ready to land at LAX.  One of my favorite things to watch as they line up.

06/26/12 My view of a crazy line of food trucks across the street from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Life was rough trying to figure out just what to eat. I love quality problems! My food was crazy yummy and by crazy I mean by size and weight.

06/26/12 My view of a piece of the Berlin Wall across the street from LACMA. These quotes are very powerful. It was very humbling to see this.

06/26/12 My view at the top of a crazy tall escalator (crazy really was the theme at LACMA that day).

06/26/12 My view of Hollywood, CA from LACMA. You can just barely see the Hollywood sign over to the right of the photo at the top of the hills.

06/26/12 Hey that’s me next to a crazy giant modern art sculpture of wobbly plates at LACMA. I wanted so badly to try to tip them over.

06/26/12 My view of our reflection in the crazy long and large elevator at LACMA. I had NO IDEA I would be able to see our reflection. I just wanted to get an artsy view and now it’s even better because it shows me and the fabulous people I was there with. I had a really fun and silly time with them!

06/26/12 My view of all these lights lined up in a row at LACMA. They’re really cool during the day. They must be pretty neat at night.

06/27/12 My view from the sun deck as evening arrives. LOVE the BLUE!

06/27/12 My view from the sun deck as evening arrives. These are leaves from a new baby palm tree.

06/28/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. Something about the way the sun’s reflection rings out into the blue of the sky really touches me here.

06/28/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. The sun was peaking at me through the trees. See that lounge chair right there? I got right in that for a little bit as the sun set. Really nice and the cool breeze was making me giddy.

Well it looks like my hair’s ready to be washed and checked for purple!  Here I go!  Thanks as always for being you!

Moments of Peace Part 10!!! SPECIAL CLEO KITTY EDITION!

I just had to share this with you!  Last night I had the most specialest wonderfulest neatest amazingest cuddle and peaceful time with our Cleo Kitty!

Ever since her diagnosis of cancer in December 2011 she has been extra lovey.  Actually, I think all three of us have become more lovey with each other and really pulled together as a family.  And Cleo Kitty is doing really well and very much alive and very much kicking these days!  She’s not only extra spunky but she is EXTRA affectionate most of the time and last night was a breathtaking example of our bonding.

She got on the table I was typing at and kept walking over my arms and in the way (OF COURSE!) trying to get my attention.  She has a habit of doing this and sometimes I’ve put my arms around her and held her and she’s put up with it but last night she not only let me hold her but she backed up into me, settled her butt on my arm and snuggled into me.  First there were no purrs but then they started too!!!

I lifted my arm away to let her know she was free if she wanted to be and she stayed right there.  It was one of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had EVER!!!  Sooooo peaceful.  This Kitty knows how to love and she teaches me more and more!

Sooooo, as usual during times with Cleo I reached for my phone (to try to get some pics and at least share with Corey) and now that I have a nice fancy one, I could turn the camera so it was facing me (not as good quality but who cares when you can catch THE moment).  I didn’t care that my hair wasn’t done “right” or that I didn’t look that good.  This was about Cleo and I and capturing our time together if possible.  What came out of it is a very special photo shoot that brings me to tears every time I look at it.  I had no idea what her facial expression was and what touches me even more is how much love she is showing so willingly on her face and usually she looks a bit irritated at me for taking pictures.  This was not the case.  I wanted to share these special Moments of Peace with you all because our little loved ones with fur instead of hair have so much to teach us and soooo much love to share.  I love her soooo much!

06/24/12 Me and My Girl! #1  She was rubbing all over me.  This is one of my favorites!

06/24/12 Me and My Girl! #2 You can’t see much of me but it’s ok.

06/24/12 Me and My Girl! #3 She sat right up to my head snuggled and let me kiss her back.

06/24/12 Me and My Girl! #4 Not the best picture but I wanted to show that I was really holding her.

06/24/12 Me and My Girl! #5 This is my favorite one! I think the picture says it all.

Thank you Cleo Kitty for the Honor of being that close to you!!!  You are truly very very special!

Moments of Peace Part 9

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm.  Am I happy it’s Friday or what?  What a week!  Welcome to my new followers.  Thank you for taking this journey with me.  I am very thankful for my Moments of Peace because they have really helped me get through a very challenging week.  It’s nice to have moments that remind me to BREATHE.

06/15/12 My view on my walk in West LA today. PINK!

06/15/12 My view on my walk in West LA today. HELLO rays of sun!

06/15/12 This is a wonderful wedding quilt my Mommy-In-Law made that we FINALLY put on our bed. It’s wonderful! One day we’ll get rid of our ’80s furniture…

06/16/12 My view on my walk in West LA as day turns to night. MAGENTA!

06/16/12 My view on my walk in West LA as night arrives. Something about the way the lamp post looks against the tree really caught my eye.

06/16/12 It’s always an honor to see Corey perform Improv on the stage with The Magic Meathands. I feel very at peace when I see him up there in his element. I believe he was saying, “They’re eating our cake of doom!”.

06/17/12 My view from the sun deck as night arrives. I was fascinated by the glow in the night sky.

06/17/12 My view from the sun deck as night arrives. And again, more of that glow.

06/18/12 A lovely lady gave me this beautiful purple gift from her garden and I’m happy to say it’s still alive!!! Thank you!!!

06/18/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. I am such a sucker for cloud views in the sky. ‘Tis the season for moody skies.

06/18/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night.  More moody skies.  This sun streak appeared in the clouds as I arrived on the sun deck and then quickly went away.  Such a gift.  And I don’t think I noticed that bird flying in the sky till I posted this picture here.  Nice!

06/19/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. You can see sunny skies on the horizon. Gotta love when the marine layer comes in and helps to cool it down and just for me. I just know it!

06/19/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. Hints of blue sky here and there.

06/20/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. One of those lovely glowing sunsets.

06/20/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. The sun looks so intense here.

06/21/12 My view on my walk in West LA as day turns to night. My favorite: clouds and sky.

06/21/12 My view on my walk in West LA as day turns to night. The sky was sooooo blue. It was a beautiful night–mainly because I got out for the first time in days!

Alrighty!  I hope you all enjoyed my peaceful moments.  I know I did!!!  Have a wonderfully peaceful weekend!

Moments of Peace Part 8

FRIDAY FRIDAY FRIDAY!!  YEAH BABY!

Struggling to get back into the swing of things and yet do it a different way–in a more self-caring and healthy manner.  Posting my Moments of Peace does help.  Here we go!

06/08/12 My view at LAX. I had just dropped off Corey at the airport and I was sad. Feeling the breeze and the sunlight as the palm trees blew helped.

06/08/12 My view at LAX. What no planes? Pretty cool huh? You never know what you’re gonna see wherever you are. That’s the best part.

**Last Friday, after I dropped off Corey at LAX I found myself doing some retail therapy and managed to have some luck finding clothes which is amazing!  And that evening I found myself at The Getty Center.  For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s this really beautiful place with art museums and gardens and what I love about it is all the nature, the quiet and the idea that I can walk around there and not need to go into any building and just enjoy the scenery.  On a really clear day you can see the spread of the LA area for miles and sometimes the ocean really sparkles off in the distance.  I love it!  I haven’t been able to go for awhile because I have such a hard time in the sun with my lupus (and my MS) and they are usually only open during the day.  If theyf were open at night I’d be there much much more.  Here a few Moments of Peace from that experience:

06/08/12 My view on the tram on the way to The Getty Center as day turns to night.

06/08/12 My view facing The Getty after just arriving as day turns to night.

06/08/12 My view at The Getty as day turns to night.

06/08/12 My view from The Getty as day turns to night.  Quite a cloudy night.

06/08/12 Hey! That’s me at The Getty!

06/08/12 My view of the gardens at The Getty Center as day turns to night.

06/08/12 I loved these flowers at The Getty!

06/08/12 My view from The Getty as night arrives. Very low clouds.

06/08/12 My view from The Getty as night arrives. The best part about this is seeing that almost solid line of lights going diagonally across the picture, knowing that’s the freeway traffic and being sooooo happy I’m not in it.

06/08/12 My view at The Getty in the same place as when I started but at night. So neat.

**And now onto the rest of the week:

06/09/12 My view in West LA as evening arrives.

06/09/12 My view in West LA as evening arrives.

06/09/12 My view in West LA as night arrives.

06/10/12 My view in West LA as day turns to night.

06/10/12 My view in Westchester, CA as day turns to night.

06/11/12 My view from the sun deck as night arrives. It was a very clear night. Those lights far off in the distance are Hollywood, I believe.

06/11/12 My view from the sun deck as night arrives. I love twinkling city lights!

06/12/12 My view at LAX as night arrives. I was there to pick up Corey and grabbed this before hurrying across the street in time for the light.

06/13/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. That white ball above the glow is the sun. I love when I can get views like this.

06/13/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. Another view that I am in awe of.

06/14/12 My view in West LA as day turns to night. There were some pinks in there.

It always feels good to post these and share them!  I hope you liked them.  Do you have any Moments of Peace you’d like to share?  I’d love to see them!!!

HAVE AN AWESOME AND PEACEFUL WEEKEND ALL!

Moments of Peace Part 7

Happy 3 Day Weekend All!  I hope you can enjoy the Holiday!  It will be a very special day for me on Monday because it’s also my Birthday!  I’m not sure how it’s already that time of year and I’m just gonna go with it.  It’s good to be alive.

Welcome to my new followers this week.  It is really so very cool to share my journey with all of you.  This week has been a very full week of ups and downs and roundabouts and I’m pretty exhausted.  Next week I am on a Rest-cation and I can’t wait!  I need the break badly.

It’s that time of week again where I like to review my Moments of Peace and share them with you:

05/18/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. Clear skies and lots of views of planes that night. We are in the flight pattern of 2 different airports and I really enjoy watching the planes fly by.

05/18/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. I really like how the sun’s reflections on the low clouds on the horizon give us the view of extra streaks of light.

05/18/12 Corey and our Cleo Kitty. These 2 are so in love. As you can see, Cleo has her own little playground on the floor with wrapping paper (that she just loves to sit on) and some kitty beds, and toys everywhere. We kinda like her.

05/19/12 My view from my balcony as morning turns to do. Some of the best views of the sky have come from my balcony. It is so nice to be able to see the big sky from our place.

05/19/12 My view from my balcony as morning turns to day. Another really neat view.

05/19/12 My view on a random street corner in West LA as day turns to night. I was running some errands and had to grab the picture before I lost the sun.  Oh and I grabbed it from the car.

05/19/12 My view in West LA as day turns to night. This time I wasn’t Driving While Taking Pictures and was on the sidewalk.

05/19/12 Being able to see Corey perform with improv group The Magic Meathands always gives me peace and lots of laughter. I was so happy to be able to get out and see him on the stage!

05/20/12 We went to Santa Monica, CA to see the solar eclipse on Sunday and it was wonderfully relaxing. The ocean always helps me feel at peace.

05/20/12 My view of the solar eclipse in Santa Monica, CA. The light was getting very dramatic at this point.

05/21/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. Gotta love the twinkling LA nights.

05/21/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. I turned to the right from the last picture and this is what I saw. Oh how I love the pinks!

05/22/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to evening. It was kinda hot. Look at that intense sun!

05/22/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to evening. I was trying to be artsy with this but it came out kinda weird. I really like the flatline effect of the sun.

05/23/12 My view on my walk in Santa Monica, CA. Look at that vibrant purple!

05/23/12 Had my absolutely favorite lunch at The Veggie Grill. They call it Buffalo Chickin’ Salad and it is not chicken. It is their own vegetarian version. It is so good and it tastes like chicken with the consistency too. I love it!

05/23/12 My view on my walk in Santa Monica, CA. Huge palm tree!

05/24/12 My view on my walk in Beverly Hills, CA. Such pretty simplicity.

05/24/12 My view on my walk in Beverly Hills, CA. Crazy strong sun!

Moments of Peace Part 6

Yay!  Time for hoots and hollers!  TGIF!  It’s FRIDAY!

Can you tell I’m excited it’s Friday?  I spent the whole week trying to recover and rebuild from the horrible medication episode I had last week and I still feel like I have a ways to go.  The good news is is that I’m in recovery mode and on the right path.  Somehow I keep on chuggin’.

Welcome to my new followers this week!  I’m soooooo excited you’ve joined me on this journey.  I’d love to hear from you!

And now for the Moments of Peace that helped me get through the week:

05/11/12 My view on my walk in West LA. Ooooooh sparkly light through the trees.

05/11/12 My view on my walk in West LA. You can’t go wrong with palm trees.

05/12/12 My view on my walk in West LA as day turns to night. I had to pet the furry leaves. I couldn’t resist.

05/12/12 My view on my walk in West LA as day turns to night. I love the simplicity of the framing and the bright orangey/red was so vibrant!

05/13/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. Sneakin’ a peak around the corner.

05/14/12 My view on my walk in West LA today. Daisies! A family favorite. Reminds me of spending weekends with my Nana and stopping by the side of any road and picking up wild daisies in the brush. It was kinda crazy and soooooo neat to do.

05/14/12 My view on my walk in West LA today. Something about the way the sunlight is shining on these very green leaves and the way they shine just gets me. Helps to see such a clear blue sky and in LA too!

05/14/12 I made yummy vanilla creme cupcakes and they were pretty yummy. Really helped me feel peace on Monday that’s for sure. Gotta use my hands!

05/14/12 Beware the Corey-zilla! Yes, even this was peaceful for me. I can’t help it. The guy (my awesome husband) makes me laugh and giggle all the time…and he loves sweets that I bake too so both of those together really helped me feel some peace.

05/15/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. Oh yeah look at that. You can see that star in the sky off to the left (barely but you can). I do believe that’s a planet but I’m not sure which one.

05/15/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. Crazy to think that the picture before this actually did show some daylight when this one looks a lot later in the day (I only turned from right to left and this is what I got). That’s what lights will do I guess. There is definitely peace in the night sky too with all the twinkling lights. Oh and you can see all the bumper to bumper traffic on the freeway in the top right corner of the horizon. That’s peaceful because I’m not in it.

05/16/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. I love love love when the sun looks through that palm tree at me. It’s hard to catch that moment but I caught it!  It was sooo pretty!

05/16/12 One of those magical moments when I actually caught the sun before it went behind the mountains. Just lovely and the sun was glowing! One of those really nice LA sunsets. Would’ve been a nice night to be on the beach but I’ll take what I can get.

05/17/12 My view from the sun deck as day turns to night. The sun just kept trying to force the clouds to open up! The marine layer/clouds from the coast came rolling in and left about an hour later to leave a very clear sky.
